Explore our refreshed website

If you’re a regular visitor to our website, you might have noticed that things look a little different today!

We’ve refreshed our website to better reflect our scope of work and to more quickly connect you to the information you need, whether you’re a community member, a health professional, or one of the Western Public Health Unit’s (WPHU) local partners.

What’s changed?

  • First up, our top menu has been updated to include both our population health and health protection work, so you can learn more about WPHU’s role in promoting health and wellbeing and preventing disease in local communities.
  • You’ll also find a new A-Z of Public Health Topics. Search alphabetically to find information on some of the diseases we manage as well as advice on topics like food safety and staying safe while travelling. We’ll be adding to the A-Z all the time so that it will become an extensive library of trusted health resources for our local community.
  • We’ve tweaked our News & Alerts section, tailoring news for community members and for health professionals and our local partners.
  • Publications; resources; and local data and insights can now be found together in one place, under our new Publications & Resources tab.
  • We’ve made some design tweaks – presenting our trusted, expert and evidence-based information in a visually-engaging, scannable and accessible format.
