WPHU’s 2025-2028 Strategy is here
The Western Public Health Unit (WPHU) has released its 2025-2028 Strategy, outlining the guiding principles and strategic priorities that will shape its work over the next three years.
The strategy is guided by WPHU’s vision to protect health, promote healthy environments, address health inequities, and keep people well.
Developed in consultation with staff and informed by local data, the strategy outlines how WPHU will strengthen public health outcomes across Melbourne’s central and western suburbs. It reflects WPHU’s ongoing commitment to primary prevention, equity, and collaboration.
The 2025-2028 Strategy focuses on four key priorities aimed to improve health outcomes and wellbeing in our catchment, including:
- Respecting diversity and promoting fairness to achieve health equity
- Building trusted partnerships and community connections
- Driving local action through evidence, innovation and systems change
- Proactively identifying and responding to emerging public health challenges
WPHU Divisional Director, Robyn Wilson says “This strategy shows our shared commitment to building healthier, fairer, and more connected communities across Melbourne’s central and western suburbs. By working alongside our partners, we can tackle inequities, respond to new challenges, and make sure everyone has the chance to live well.”
Through this strategy, WPHU will continue to build strong partnerships with local councils, health services, and community organisations, ensuring that public health efforts are collaborative, evidence-based, and evaluated. WPHU is committed to driving sustainable health outcomes and fostering a connected community that thrives together.
